Voters in the riding of Kelowna-Lake Country have another option in the upcoming election.
Mark Haley has been nominated as the candidate for the Communist Party of Canada.
A press release from the party says Haley has been a food producer in Kelowna for over 20 years.
"He has watched with sadness as small farms have diminished to be replaced by profit hungry agri-business which produces tainted food," it reads.
It also says he has raised four children here "and knows some of the pressures families face, especially if left on their own to (compete in) an inhumane free marketplace."
A part of Haley's platform is the nationalization of Canada's energy resources.
