Kimball Cariou, Vancouver Kingsway
A former labourer and political organizer, Kimball Cariou is the editor of People’s Voice, the twice-monthly newspaper published in Vancouver since 1993.
He became active in the peace movement as a high school student during the Vietnam war, and is a founding member of StopWar, Vancouver’s broad-based anti-war coalition. Kimball has been involved in campaigns to defend the interests of workers, Aboriginal peoples, poor people, immigrants, and the LGBT community. An avid cyclist, he often takes part in events to oppose the fossil fuel dependency which is closely linked to the military-industrial complex and the so-called “war on terror”.
This is his third campaign as the Communist candidate in Vancouver Kingsway.
